We had a horrible Enzo outbreak last year dead and small weak lambs, have subsequently vaccinated entire flock last autumn which has remarkedly reduced losses however still got quite a few small weak lambs at beginning of lambing around week before due date. Is this the Enzo phasing out should I look forward to next year?
Look forward to next year, @dunc999 - the difference was considerable when the flock was vaccinated here.
Any glitches you've had this year might be to do with toxo, maybe? - there's a subclinical grumble of it from time to time in ours, but it's made a routine to run ewe lambs through the lambing sheds during the year pre-tupping so the majority have been exposed to it. Ewe lambs are vaccinated against enzo, and, touch wood, the oldest ewes haven't yet needed a second vaccination.
Horrible thing, enzo. The year our lot had it, I got incredibly tired and down with the extra strain.
