Depends on when you passed your test. Before 1997 you drive up to 7.5 tonnes sort of, you will have C1 on your licence but to be drive commercially you need to do Driver CPC which is 35 hours of instruction. If the test was passed after 97 then you are limited to 3.5 tonnes.
For any driver to drive over 3.5 tonnes a tachograph needs to be used, this is all in general and there specific exceptions to this, more information is here https://www.gov.uk/browse/driving/driving-licences which is Gov website.

There is talk of the cpc being dropped for up to 7.5t gross agricultural use, be great if they do.

If you drive over 3.5t gross more than a certain number of times (I think about 12 in any year) you are subject to drivers hours regs in any two week period in which you drive the truck-max 60 hours working week, one week max 6 days working, next week 5 days working.

And that's all work not just the truck you have to account for

Dont need to use the tachometer if only leading your own livestock and dont go more than 50km from base just use a log book
