Small tractor

Looking for small tractor to do some topping etc on smallholding.
Found Iseki TG 6400 2015 447 hours for £18k or David Brown 996 1980 4000 hours (in excellent condition)£12k
Which would you go for?
Started my tractor driving days on DB but have no experience with modern compacts.

Modern compacts are amazing bits of kit, and I am sold on them for the appropriate work. Iseki have an excellent rep. Same with Kioti and Kubota. Branson/Tym are at the lower end, but still OK. Bodywork tends to the lightweight.

I know the ageing purists will prefer an ancient vintage tractor, but just have a drive on each first ;)

Those 2 tractors aren’t remotely comparable.
That iseki will be an absolute weapon. It’s probably way too big for you’re needs but that’s no bad thing.
Just check which gearbox it has as they did some sort of semi auto thing which wasn’t a success

Those tractors all seemed to be about that money for years and years, admittedly they have since came up to closer to 3-4K as an average but 12k is old case maxxum money - which is a proper tractor.
Yeh i bought a 995 with loader for 1800 recently. Get a decent 5130 for 12k
