Smaller wellies

Need a new pair of wellies, going to put this here as most folk on here tend to live in them

Always had Aigle boots and these have done me very well, however the leg bit is always huge around my calf even with it tightened up, there are a number of "ladies" boots out there with a narrower boot but they really aren't rugged enough.

I live in wellies most of the day every day, they do a lot of mileage and need to be thick soled and tough but also very warm

Anyone use muck boots? or are they more for the horsey folk :scratchhead:

My Aigles didn't last either before perishing. Took them back and swapped for Le Chameau so far they have been great. I got the narrower calf ones too, so nice to have boots that actually fit ! Tried muck boots they were frumpy and lasted 6 months before the soles went smooth... not fun skating across the cow yard ! :ROFLMAO:

I bought a pair of muckboot muck masters in November last year - wore every day up to middle march or so then the odd time after that and they are now in the skip, sole fell off the one and massive cracks in the other,

If i had money to burn I'd buy another pair tomorrow as really liked them but have bought a pair of dunlop purofort wellies now - feel thin and flimzy in comparison but a 3rd of the money so will be interesting to see how long they last

I loved my muckboots really comfy and the straw never got down the top, but they just always fell to bits, I got sick of taking them back for another pair.....went onto aigles and loved them....they lasted 3 years and then one of them went so I bought a pair of puroforts also, they feel so thin and crappy....glad I only wear wellies in the depths of winter!

I've some Bekina Steplite. Really light and comfy, but I've got skinny legs and find them quite 'sloppy' round the calf. It doesn't really matter by the time you've got jeans and overalls tucked into them though. Don't tend to slip on concrete either (y) Worth a shot at around £45

I forked out for a pair of Aigles a couple of years ago (always had Landmaster/Bekina until then) and loved them, but they only lasted 18 months before wearing out on the soles and leaking. Tried the Muckboots/Bucklers as a pair of winter wellies, they're ok but I find them very heavy and clumpy. If I had the money I'd go for Aigle again or even Le Chameau. I think if you want slimline wellies you have to pay for the top brands like Hunters (bad rep nowadays from what I've heard) or Le Chameau as both brands do 'ladies' sizes with narrower foot and slimmer leg.

Standard le chameau are sloppy in the leg so make sure to get the ladies fit

Slight aside - I have recently discovered elastic laces, so have put them on my work boots - bloody brilliant, makes them much easier to put on/take off.

On the wellie front, I love my Bekina Steplites.

Do they give the same support as normal laces?

I've always thought they will 'give' too much as the ankle moves giving an insecure feeling on your foot (like when normal laces are too slack)

No, they don't, they do give a little, but I find them useful for general use. They offer much more support than dealer boots, but less support than proper laces.
I wouldn't put them in my walking boots.
