Smart watches on the farm?

I'm just selling a Tag watch that i've not worn since we bought the farm (livestock, so for obvious reasons).

Thinking about a smart watch but curious if anyone wears one out and about whilst farming?

Not farming but my mrs bought me a smart watch that links to my iPhone not a clue how it works other than I get treats cause she thinks I’ve done thousands of steps in a day ( it thinks I’m walking while driving the van) not sure if they are all the same but the glass is bulged out further than the frame don’t think it lasted a week before I’d cracked it fair

Depends what you want out of it chances are muddy wet hands there not great. You can get some good apps and msg straight to you wristwatch however not the largest of words. Other down side battery only lasts a few days. I would keep the tag and get a casio for day wear

Mrs has an Apple Watch. Actually quite a fantastic gizmo and would save me getting my phone out of my pocket what feels like a thousand times a day.

not long ago she was taking it off and dropped it....... smashed the screen!

yeah that's kinda what i'm thinking, especially in winter with wet weather trousers over my own, muddy gloves on, etc...
If i could move my sleeve to see whether to bother answering a message, it'd be really handy

I've got an ordinary £5 cheapo watch that's lasted so long that the "silver" finish has worn away to reveal that it's really made of gold, well brass really.

Yeah actually not looking for a watch at all really, done fine not using one but would like easier access to notifications when working, and some sleep tracking would be nice

They are handy and a lot of options problem is robustness. My hewèi is 3 years old now but I dont abuse it. A freind dropped a hoody on the floor with his I watch and cracked the screen . Repair is almost the price of new

I’ve worn a fit bit for the last couple of years and get on fine with it. Connects to my phone so I can see texts and who’s phoning. The step count isn’t too accurate if I’m out on the quad etc, but I’ve learned that when lambing I’m actually walking about 70 miles/week! More importantly for me, it gives a daily record of heart activity. I have no known heart defects, but a strong family history, and it’s quite reassuring. Sleep tracker is an interesting read very often. Straps only last me around 6 months, but are cheap and easy to replace.
