Yep the stuff is brilliant, im decathlon daft my brother buys all the fancy gear sealand harkila and so on i can assure you im warmer and drier for quarter of the price. Love the stuff but i often buy more stuff than i need as it seems like such a bargain so have stuff ive never worn on reserve.

I hear ya :ROFLMAO: Edinburgh store is pretty good.

I'm typing this wearing their wool windbreaker jumper

Bought one of these off ebay for £66 I think with hat, gloves and socks chucked in. Give it a go anyway. I never have to be that far from main buildings so can always change if it gets too wet. Prefer to have a couple cheaper that I can swap than one expensive one and be knackered if I damage it.

I was tempted to buy one of these last year, my thinking was if I ruined it on barbed wire or doing something daft (fudging about with grease or something) then it wouldn't hurt too much if it had to be binned. Let us know how you get on.

I generate too much heat the moment I am working to wear too much goretex type stuff. I'd sooner wear a softshell and have a waterproof layer I can put on or take off for rain.

Depends who'd worn them, obviously ;)

well I’ll raise the funds for a weigh head and stick reader any way I can.

Got the new ridgeline evolution smock for my birthday, we have had over 4 inches of rain since Monday morning, and I have been out in most of it😢 but this smock has kept me bone dry, really pleased with it, big improvement over my classic, maybe not so warm, but better in every other way👍
How quick does it dry? Ready to go again the next morning?

Not smocks, but gloves...

I normally wear Sealskinz UltraGrip gloves. They're woolen and work a bit like the smocks as they wick/repel the water away from your skin through a membrane. I really like them as you can still do things when wearing them. They used to be £18-£20 but are now £30-£35 so I've started looking for alternatives as it's too expensive IMO.

Found these on eBay

Delivered yesterday, worn them today on the bike

I think they're acrylic, so I'm not saving the planet. But so far very pleased with them. Feel just as good as the Sealskinz on. They rate very low for warmth, though, so if you suffer with cold hands they wouldn't be good. Never been an issue with me - except the throttle thumb (but it gets frozen in any type of glove I've tried). The water just runs off them, too, so definitely waterproof when new!...

I've another pair similar, but neoprene, coming to try.

Have you got any hand guards on your quad?

The Logic grips never lasted but the ones that came on the can am (not can am’s own) never let me down. They were for snowmobiles. @neilo probably has them on his so might know the make.

‘Heat Demons’ or something like that iirc (I’ll have to check)? I’d not be without heated grips (& throttle warmer) and the wind deflectors make a hell of a difference too ime, as well as providing somewhere sensible to put the switches for the grips.👍
