I might try one of these depending on how much discount the misses can get.

To be honest I’ve not worn it since my buggy came! Left it in the lambing shed and that’s where it stayed. If I could find another one I wouldn’t hesitate at buying one! But can’t find them now :(

Didn't take much finding (y)

Well today, was the first day where I had on the ridgeline smock in heavy rain that did not stop all day, and its safe to say its not meant for that kind of weather, to be fair I never got wet, but the smock dose turn into a sponge and soaks up loads of water, and was very depressing put it back on after lunch, it's been hanging beside the stove for 3 hours and is still soaking wet☹️ I am still very glad I bought it its been great on the bike in cold windy weather, and working in the fanks and gathering the hills, i have loved wearing it the last few weeks, think it will be great at calving and lambing time too!

On days like today I would normally put on the guy cottons, but they are getting done and in need of replacing. So with the fanevally sales I decided to try the kaiwaka sormline Parka Jacket and bib n brace. Looking forward to testing them out?

That’s my problem with the ridgeline too. Wanted to persevere as I paid a fair bit of money for it but it’s just not cutting it. I’ve just ordered a kaiwaka stormforce parka as well, went for a betacraft bib and brace as a slightly cheaper option. It’ll be handy to have two good jackets that I can alternate if things get really rough but it’s looking like the kaiwaka for the really wet days. I’ve come to the conclusion that there just isn’t a jacket that does everything.

I was fencing in mine this morning, opted for the trusty Guy Cottens after lunch tho, weather like this I’m pretty convinced your going to end up wet one way or another, and even if you did have a very breathable waterproof, I think when you’re really grafting there would be quite a chill factor if the sweat was evaporating freely.

You boys are all saying the same as what I felt with the Pintail, so I'm a bit disappointed when the Monsoon versions are supposed to be so much better... but clearly aren't. Glad I've never took the punt yet.

I reckon I'm better off with my cheaper copycat smocks and then chuck on a very light waterproof (Flexithane, Fortress etc) jacket for serious heavy rain.

See we have an other version of the rideline smocks, this one is called the evolution!! Not cheap. Anyone have one? They say it's the best of the best?

I think the material is the same ‘waterproofness’ but has a higher breathability rating, and doesn’t have that fuzzy finish that holds onto the water.

What are the actual benefits of a smock over a jacket tho? I can’t think of any

I read the waterproofness has increased from 10,000h20 to 15,000h20.

Yea your right there is not much benefits but I suppose the big front pocket is one and no zip to let wind and rain in and to break down. Must admit I do like the feeling of wearing a smock, don't really know why though!
