Bought one of these off ebay for £66 I think with hat, gloves and socks chucked in. Give it a go anyway. I never have to be that far from main buildings so can always change if it gets too wet. Prefer to have a couple cheaper that I can swap than one expensive one and be knackered if I damage it.

How long have you had that? What's your verdict?

I see them all the time on eBay but wasn't brave enough to take the gamble

Only had it 2 months & it's only got cool enough to wear it this week but havn't had heavy rain yet. Seems to bead water well enough and seams look well taped, but too early so say how it would take a soaking. If it works like a softshell, I'll be happy. Easy to add a hardshell if I know I'm out for more than a couple hours.

Got a Montane Extreme Smock (light but warmer with Pertex shell) and Cofra St Moritz jacket (heavier insulation, more waterproof) I can rotate through depending on weather, and it's way less bulky than them. Bloody comfy!

It arrived today. Looks nice and well made. Not heavy either but its too small. I'm 6'1 and pretty lanky and usually a L is fine but its way too tight. No way I could use it deer stalking which I wanted it for.

Bugger! The sizings say L should have been decent size... I take M on most of them - I'm 6'1" with a 38-40" chest, so like you I'm lanky

Sizes are always a gamble buying online I guess. You should can return it and get the next size (or 2!) up?
