Smoking

Just done 12 months without a smoke, dentist told me if I didn't give up I'd be eating baby food before too long, and she wouldn't try help me save the others. I've lost 3 teeth to it killing the roots.

I walked out of the dentists that day, lit the last cig in the packet and never touched another, after a fortnight Mrs N threw a 200 pack in the bin which I still had at home, suddenly realised we didn't know anyone else who still smoked who we could have passed them on to.

I have got rid of the cough which I didn't quite realise I had,or didn't want to admit I had.

I have to say though, 12 years before giving up I banned myself from smoking in vehicles which helped a lot, surprising how much you can lose on a smokers vehicle at trade in.

I smoked 40 Players a day for years (started off with Woodbines when I was in the army and progressed when i could afford it ) I had a pretty bad heart attack 20 years ago and had a multiple heart bypass afterwards . Knife man at MRI gave me a little talk before discharge . " I'm not going to tell you that dairy products , red meat , etc are bad for you - simply moderation is all . What I will tell you and I can't stress it too much , if you smoke , give it up . If you don't it'll kill you . Are you a smoker ?" I'm not now said I , and I've never smoked since . It's a habit anyway .I realised this when I was driving . I would light up , take 2 drags , and chuck it through the window , and immediately light another . As said earlier by many , you need to REALLY want to stop , and have a good reason . After that it's easy !.
