Is it possible to convert a SPFH in to a zero grazer?

Remember, the key is to cause the least damage to the cut grass so knives out for a start but what about drum? Will the impeller be able to accelerate grass of, say 10” , up and through spout without blocking?

"speed" and "gentle grass handling" are two concepts that don't seem to get along

A big tractor with a 10ft front mower and a decent wagon should be able to motor along and cut/lift 12 acres and transport it about as fast as anything else could do it.... and have some good resale value if/when you decide it's a bad idea...
it should give you at least 50% extra output over a 7ft ZG anyway.

There's a big dairy unit near me that have a 10' front mower and hugh forage box on the back. Tractors are 200-250hp sized, he has some steep ground but its regularly reseeded so it's even going and the forage box is soon full and back to the yard. His forward speed is pretty similar to my 100hp tractor and 10'rear mower.
Think the only downside according to the local agri engineering is that the forage wagons aren't designed to run day after day so they soon wear out.
He calls them Clatterboxes.

We had some wet summers late 90's I think, got so wet here in late July / August, ended up bringing in suckler cows and calves etc, and zero grazing the second cut silage to feed them... surprising how you can travel over damp ground the once, but can't go back the next day ...

Yes, grazing cows also make a mess when it's wet.

Seems as though the OP can't/doesn't graze cows out, so choice is silage or zero graze, or a combination.

More chance with zero grazing if some free draining land available?

Don't know what the answer is, but at least with silage you can choose your weather window.
