Soil Care Network

Hi all, I thought this webpage may be interesting to you: soilcarenetwork.com ; it's the website for a community of natural and social scientists interested in soil issues that I launched in June. We have a monthly newsletter with interesting stuff from the research and media world around soils, and you may be interested in seeing some of the presentations from our workshop (including Duncan Cameron and Liz Stockdale). If you have any feedback on the site, or if you think there are particular areas that need research in the soils world at the moment from an inter-disciplinary perspective, please get in touch!

Hi @AnnaKSheffield just had a look at your website - it's very interesting! I'm helping Abby Rose to spread the word to the farming community about her Sectormentor for soils app, which I've been using to monitor soil health at my Dad's small mixed farm in Oxfordshire. Keep up the great work with the soil care network - maybe we could put something about it our next newsletter. :)

Hi - thanks for reaching out! I have been chatting with Abby, what has been your experience with their app, how has it been useful? Would you consider writing about your experiences for our blog? I'd really love to have a voice from the farming community yhere.

Hi Anna, nice to hear from you! So far it's been great using the app - particularly as I'm working with my Dad to learn more about the soil on our farm and asking a lot of questions I had not thought about before now. I've done the setup stage of the app which has been really smooth, and will do my first tests in the next few weeks when hopefully it's warmed up a bit. Would be great to put something together for the blog - there are 18 farmers signed up for the app, some of which are a bit further ahead than me, so one of them could be interested in writing something too!

Hi, sorry it took me so long to respond, the university strikes had taken over my life. Great to hear you are enthusiastic about the blog idea - is there anything I could do to help you along with it?
