I popped in late

Easy to talk a good game with stock enterprises returning, more pasture, longer term agreements with agents looking after soil etc....but when it comes to the crunch........??

Basically the opinion was we have to market our own produce if going such a route ....

Thought it might have been. Looking in to FB atm, but numbers better wintering cows on them rather than finishing cattle. Cant wait till CS have their singulator sorted :)

Yes are very popular fer wintering cows......had a guy from Invercargill in, has cows on grass, kale, & FB..............says you can walk past cows on FB & they don't bat an eye, yet disturb others & they over at fence bellowing

Silver Fern are paying a premium fer beef fattened on FB (y)

Their was a farmer further up country who finished cattle over winter and were on from Feb till Sept and averaged 800grams/day and 2.2kg when back on spring grass. But they said genetic play a big part in growth rates

@ReidyNZ biggest issue i see in harvesting is lack of logistics taking beets away from harvester. Seen two going recently, and spent too much time stopped for my liking

Other than on you-tube not seen harvesting (may do later this month as Seed Force are taking us South (y))........but all up here so far are just grazing..........had one hand pulled 4.5ha to put in mixer wagon fer feeding in his fattening barn........had a few staff tho

Plenty of ploughs for sale, Kuhn dealer reckons they are making a comeback

Hi

plough/tillage manufacturers always say that.

had a salesman rung the other day, asking how we are dealing with compaction under DDing, and others asking how can we drill with so much organic matter being put back in
