soil temp thermometer

Just broken mine trying to push it in with my foot.
It was quite thick , so took alot to push it in .
Just wondering what anyone else uses ?
Don't really whant any comments other than recomendations of type and brand, so i can just order one.

I have a couple that @Great In Grass sent me that work just fine. He might be able to help?

Can’t remember where I got mine but they are essentially food thermometers to be fair. I found the trick is to buy them two at a time and test the variance between the two. They can be wildy different and I sent two pairs back before they twigged and sent me a matched pair that agreed with a mercury thermometer.

Can’t find exactly the same as I’ve got but it’s many years old and has put up with being pushed in with my foot most times, it’s almost the same as this but longer and has two thermometers in it, one for top 2 inches of soil and other for 6 inches down. Seems pretty strong.
