I remember ploughing warp land with a 4000 and 2 furrow reversible plough and hitting bog oaks, would stop you dead and you slid forward into gearstick, very painful
But its when they are putting on canopy that you need irrigation for scab control, either that or its peeing down anyway. if the "Great" British public could be weaned away from piper and onto varieties with lower susceptibilty to scab it would be ideal. But when spuds get full canopy nothing will grow any way ?
