The hotline is good value at 0.65J and 200 quid to buy.
I did look at this one but I tried speaking to someone on the phone line couple times but kiwi kit answered got the sale. If we get on with it we run half a dozen units so will look again

Battery is only warranty for 3 months with gallagher as we have found out, hotline warranty for battery is a year, it's what seems to go first.Rang Griggs after kiwikit and the Gallagher with the 7 years warranty looks the better buy.

Brother inlaw has sent two back a couple of week ago and they don't come under the 7 year warranty or that's what they told himGriggs told me 5 year warrenty on Gallagher fencer including batteries.
To be fair the only thing that'll really nacker the battery is if it's left in a discharged state, say in the back if a shed over winter... when stored I try to make sure they're somewhere with some daylight falling on the panel to keep the battery voltage up.Brother inlaw has sent two back a couple of week ago and they don't come under the 7 year warranty or that's what they told him View attachment 801518
I know this is a old post in a thread revival, and that I've strayed into the dairy section, as evidenced by the satisfaction expressed with fencers with 0.5 - 0.75 joules output.Has anybody bought a solar panel off the internet and rigged it up to charge the battery?I see you can buy a 25 watt solar panel for under £40.Would you need something to stop over charging the battery?Ive been on the phone with kiwi kit and they want £250 to £300 for the same thing.

However I bought a 40w panel with built in regulator 4 years ago for £90 and it will keep a 2.5 joules output fencer going all summer and 1 change of battery during winter.

Even then the 12v 7.2ah battery's can be brought for £15 online not a fortune...
I had it from Sunstore .What make and where did you buy it ?
