Solar powered light.

Aye-up,

We have a block of three stables where we lamb our sheep. There is no mains electric to them so I'm wondering if there is a decent little solar LED floodlight sold anywhere so we can install a couple.

It's a right faff trying to do everything by car lights or torch.

Cheers, Pete.

A mate of mine picked some up from aldi for his stables otherwise, you could look at MPOW 3in1. When you chose an LED just buy 1 and try it out before buying a block

Screwfix sell a 10 Watt rechargeable worklight for £30 or a 5 Watt one for £24. They will recharge from mains or 12v supply. Shouldn't be difficult to hook one up to a solar panel. I made my own electric fence units with solar panels, 12 v battery charger modules and old car batteries. Straightforward, cheap and work well

We have two 5.0 metre strips of 12v warm white led's in our camping area. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5M-5050-W...557375?hash=item5d5bf230bf:g:RLkAAOSwnLdWtAeL. They run off a leisure battery and this can be charged up with a solar panel. There is plenty of light produced and the system works for at least a week without a charge. I have been meaning to get a solar charger but simply haven't got round to this yet.

On a about generators. I've have one of these little Honda 2 stokes for years. Not much bigger then a 5ltr petrol can and will run for a good four hours plus on a litre of petrol on half run.
I use this to run a few led work lights in the garage when needed.

Hello,

Since the discussion is on solar powered light, can I please ask you to complete a short survey in relation to a solar light insect trap device ?. This is a promising innovative product for insect pest control in an eco friendly and sustainable manner. The product has been field tested in New Zealand & India and has received some excellent feedback from the farming community. I want to learn what UK farmers think about this innovative product and look forward to receiving some feedback. So, I would be grateful if you could click on the link below and answer the survey questions(takes less than 10 minutes to complete)

Thank you for your time and support

I use these for outbuildings that have no electric and minimal use. If not enough light can use a couple of them like I have in some toilets. Not sure if PIR will be helpful or a pain for you though.

Steevo the solar lights you have, do they stay on constantly while in the shed as they keep detecting movement? I tried one from screwfix and it would keep going off after 30 seconds and then back on which was a pain so it went back.
