Solis tractors

Got talking to a machinery rep today about various popular brands who said the solis tractors, particularly the solis 50, are massively growing in popularity. I've found a couple of threads on here about them, but nothing very recent. Has anyone got one? How do you rate it??

Looked at selling solis when David tunstall was bringing them in before any one else. Chap from solis came down to see us to discuss terms. Very good company. Keen and reliable. They will out last the Chinese machines and Turkish I believe. Strong well built bits of kit. Pretty sure I have the tie still I was given as a gift.

No problem, try to help where I can.

They use some older tech like mechanical fuel pumps with electronic control instead of common rail but itā€™s tough. Theyā€™ll be fine for a yard tractor or loader tractor etc. Refinement isnā€™t like the top brands but they arenā€™t a premium price either so right machine for the job intended. Even found the tie I was given. [emoji3][eView attachment 906117moji106]

I take it no one knows what solis tractors are like then? Maybe I should get one as a case study!!
Iā€™ve got a 20 for a year now, simple no frills tractor, turning circle could be better, bit of a gap between 3rd low and 1st high, other than that, no issues, good lift, build quality is good, drives nice, lots of power for a 20hp, have it on a 6ft finishing mower mostly, canā€™t fault it for the price

I laugh at these threads. Someone asks about a 'cheaper' brand tractor and others say 'don't get one, they're rubbish, can't get parts, worth nothing after a year, no back up' etc etc.

Then there will be another thread saying 'we all want cheap, basic tractors, why does no one make them any more?'
Here here , empty milk churns make the most noise !!!!!

I have recently bought a sollis 50 with a 4 in1 loader which I am very pleased with except it has a stupid device which if you overload the bucket it will empty it. I have pallet forks and lifted a pallet of firewood The pallet was about 3 ft off the ground and it decided it was to heavy and promptly tilted forward and dropped all my firewood onto the ground which I had to reload again.

I recently saw an ad for a S50 with iron and earth I think it was for Ā£20k +VAT with 3 yr warranty IIRC. Looks like a really decent tractor. What would be the lifting capacity on yours?

Please keep us updated with a long term review, I think a few of us would be interested to hear your thoughts on it, myself included.

My neighbour has a Solis, bought new a year or so ago, donā€™t think he would buy it again. There is a ā€˜klonkingā€˜- his words occasionally in one of the gears. The dealer has has it back to try and sort but hasnā€™t managed to fix it, donā€™t know whether the dealer did a full strip down or just changed the oil, but as I said the noise is still there. Also I think getting routine spares is difficult. He had a problem with the fuel filters blocking, the only place he could get spare filters was from the dealer who apparently had to order them in from India! I know at the time I found this hard to believe but Google didnā€™t find any when I checked for him, Iā€™ve just done the search now and found only one source.

Perhaps a second hand opinion, butā€ caveat emptorā€

See if you can train it to do it when required rather than when it feels like it.... :ROFLMAO: Stupid safety features , whatever next? Wonder if the dealer can disable it for you. This "safety" feature could actually cause an accident if it did it when you were moving around!
