Some Insight

Hi

I will be in the market for another tractor soon, whereby I would appreciate some advice on what to look for.
Budget will be around 25k Inc the dreaded vat as not vat registered.

So what would be classed as a good alrounder for general hay making tasks, mowing, towing trailer etc

Oh and prefer the Red variant but will look to others if they would be more robust.
Which red?

Massey,Case or a red Valtra?

In that sort of price bracket previous history and abuse will be essential. You need to find something which has been driven sympathetically,it doesn’t take long for a tractor to be wrecked by a rough ass.

Exactly, and also got to remember how honest folks are...

May also get someone I trust to vet the next purchase as far as possible, as I'm not too familiar with all the workings yet.

@Ukjay post maybe the county you are in as folk on here need to know if they are close and have something suitable. (y)

Erm currently renting in Gloucestershire trying to find a new place.
Easier said than done currently... But looking for a place within 1 hr commute to Bristol & Yate.

Only got two properties on the short list at the mo, but not 100% on either.

But are all low HP tractors equal, what I mean is are some advertised claims over egged and therfore underpowered so to speak?
I do not want to make a mistake and regret making different choices.

Also, don't forget, I have only had 2 tractors in my life, and you currently have one of them ?
Did he whip out his ramps when you were not looking?

Have you considered a NH TSa?

Hi All

Starting to look again at potential replacement tractor again following recent property purchase issues, whereby I would be interested to learn if McCormick Tractors are bad - as found these two, which on face value appear tidy examples but read a few posts to say they are problematic - so would be interesting to learn more on issues, also views on dealer would be appreciated (PM to save backlash if prefered)

Also would be grateful if anyone knows of something of similar price range that is considered a good buy, as the current house purchase looks more positive, so need to start looking at options.

Nothing wrong with them, if not the most refined.
Gear changing can be clunky.

I have a cx 100 with 8700h which has needed for nothing other than routine servicing.
As said above, not the most refined but nice and simple little tractors

That is what I am really looking for. Nothing to high tech that takes computers to tell you there is an undiagnosed fault, and hopefully something that I can maintain myself (wihtin realm of my tech abilty).

Well I don’t think you will find much better than a cx then, are you looking at manual or electric shuttle? Check the synchros on a manual version as not everyone is kind to them
