Hello,
Brand new here and hoping you might be able to help me?
Looking for land - grass or anything flat and ideally 6-800 mtrs long with no major obstructions, no powerlines running through it and reasonable access - with an orientation of approx 230-270 / SW - W
The strip would be used for operating a single glider with a microlight tow plane, that will operate April to October doing trial lessons, (vouchers) like red letter days etc - the glider is a 1950 open cockpit side-by-side glider called a T21
There are several glider strips around Dorset / Somerset but none of them are currently able to operate 7 days a week, not that I would - but I need to fly when the forecast is good, which could be any day of the week.
Road access needs to be viable for a max of 2 to 3 cars at a time? Clearly if there were any barns or sheds available for hangarage, this would be beyond comprehension but also increase potential revenue.
No issues with commercial rates being paid, and happy to go through necessary planning or whatever is needed, but in effect, it is just a single glider and tow plane operation - no other aircraft and not a club or anything that people can join - just book a voucher, rock up fly, and off you go
Would be amazing if anyone knew any farmers in Somerset / Dorset that might be willing to help or at least have a chat?
Hope you can help
