I had to take a train back from the big smoke today and on the way we passed through the Levels. I have seen in the press and news that they have suffered a great deal with flooding but I did not realise the scale of the problem.

There are 1,000's of acres under water, and under water it seems for months and months. Some of it looked to be feet deep. Hard to think how people are coping there and when it will all return to normal, the ground under the water must be knackered, lots of it used for silage that was no good last year and looking a write off this year as well!

It is truly heartbreaking when you travel up to London on the train and see the impact of the flooding. I took this picture in January, it was the same in December
