Something upsetting the Bull

Our Limmy bull has has been quite upset the last few days and I an not sure why. There are two spots in the field where he stands smelling the ground and roaring which alarms some of the cows. I can only think that it is the urine of either a Badger, Wild Boar or a rutting stag that he can smell. Anyone had similar and found out what it was?

Next door reckoned that the way the woods were laid out caused the bulls roar too echo. His bulls never last more that 3/4 years before they go loopy. He’s convinced it’s because they spend too much time roaring at a bull that isn’t there… 🤷🏻‍♂️
We have some fields in a river valley that echo and the bull will sometimes have a row with itself in those fields. This isn't like that, its the grumbling type of roar with foot flicking, rather than any outright territorial roaring.

Anything died in those spots?
Or calved? Our bulls often react to the smell of blood.
Yes, he does react like that to blood/body juices but nothing has died in that field. He has already been in that field 4 or 5 times this season without it bothering him. The only other thing I can think of is it was quite frosty over the 4 days he was in that field which may have enhanced any smell enough to upset him :scratchhead:

We've three bulls that are kept apart by at least one field, most evenings just before dark one will start to roar then the others will answer. Normally this is more intense when cows are bulling, they will then often stand on guard duty with a change of demeanour.
Perhaps he can smell the lady's on the wind.
