SOP AGM

Very sad day today I was at the AGM and nothing changed the five directors were thrown out by the very best democracy the S.O.P. can give well I for one am wasting no more money with them there beyond belief and the two directors who brought about this resolution should hang their heads in shame . One said it wasn`t personal and he proposed it for the better of the society , well now we will get to see if that is correct I very much doubt it could well be R.I.P. to S.O.P. well all I can say is good luck to them .

Much as expected but a very sad state of affairs. I gather that 33 proxy votes against the motion were declared void for some reason. I wonder if the reasons given were checked. Just received info that the 33 invalid votes were from "members" who were £5 short with their subs because they had not changed their standing orders to cover the new amount. There's another 33 potential members who should ask for their money back.

I gather that solicitors received a call from SOP to ask if paying the £5 top up before the meeting was legal. They were told it was so a fewer fivers were handed over by those present. More members money burnt unnecessarily just to cover their slimy backs.

The biggest problem in that society is, above half of the members haven`t been in long enough to see what`s really happening and the other half are afraid to speak the truth .But I do believe this low down dirty trick nearly caps them all. One director deserve`s an Oscar for the show he put on leading up to the AGM but changed role once he got there not that we haven`t seen it before, and the chairman was a disgrace talk about taking sides thought a chairman was supposed to be impartial with only a casting vote if required . Also one Welsh director who always has plenty to say ought to think on in an AGM a good number of years ago the S.O.P. tried to ban Welsh ploughmen from even ploughing at the British if it weren't for a few good men my father included they would have succeeded too, that was one dirty trick they didn`t get away with. Anyway when you`ve lost money for the last few years the best way to sort it is to sack 5 directors who have pointed out the need for change and one in particular that has got a very good record in raising funds and then say "WE NEED TO CHANGE" and make it look like you thought of it . BRILLIANT!!!! give them a round of applause. ????

Just edited this from 44 to 33 due to loss in transmission. We cannot be seen to have snakes on our side too.

So the 5 must have considered this outcome.

Do they have a plan B now or has all this been in vain.

Perhaps the Formation of the - National Vintage Ploughing Organisation?

There were over 200 voted in favour even with the 33 votes it's still not enough. It's what is called a majority decision by members not a few directors. The main problem is not the way the SOP is run but the trouble caused by a minority that will not accept a majority decision.

I have no problem with the count

What it stands for and how it came about is the issue for me

Those members have made the choice

What it leaves behind will only be seen from now on.
