Just do it with an ordinary cereal drill.

Only got the option of a maize drill my self, would a fodder beet drill do it, never had anything to do with sorghum.

I grow some in shooting cover crops, just spin it on with a slug pelleter and harrow in lightly, but soil has to be really warm so be patient!!

Wait until the soils are really really warm- end of this month maybe, if not June.

Doesn't need any particular drill.

Do not spray it with nicosulfuron (Samson) - it is not 'just like' maize.

Fine-ish seed bed. Needs a pre-em really, too. Not all PDM has it on the label.

It's a long time since I've grown it but I wouldn't bother putting through a precision drill as it's a smallish seed. This is what it grows to. Pia to row up and bale.

Do you allow it to wilt at all?

I have seen them direct cutting it with a forager in California and other parts of the states. Seems hellish tough to chop sometimes and usually loaded with birds by the million as well.

Had it in bird cover crops for I don’t know how long, always done well behind a combi drill and now behind a strip drill, I can’t recall a year it’s failed.

Yes, I would try it through a MoCo if I had one as the leaves dry quickly but the stalks don't. It tends to lay very flat and stiff when it's cut which makes it difficult to row up without scratching a lot of soil in with it.
