Sourcing cool clothing

Struggling with sweat - sweaty betty here. My trousers are from Strauss and Rohan but they are manmade fabrics that aren't wicking - sources of better trousers? I also cant go out unless covered head to toe in fabric so now I need long sleeved shirts. Def no shorts or sleeveless tops the horseflies are attacking constantly. Wearing poly style trousers and wellies is also very very uncomfortable. I feel like Im suffering bad this year perhaps its my age. Cant seem to go out without a hat either. Just boiling.

Been living in shorts, t-shirt last couple months now shorts and a vest, don’t find it a problem.

Cragghoppers do nosilife (think it is) I have a short sleeved shirt which is quite airy and has sort of vents on the back and is supposed to repel insects.

3rd'd for Craghoppers, have a look at these on Amazon. They're not very expensive (around £20 per pair) but are light weight, have a pocket for your phone and last quite well too. If you tumble dry them the belt will shrink massively and you'll think you've put on about 3 stone since you last wore them, otherwise they're very good.

Craghoppers also do shirts and stuff but so do Mountain Warehouse, Regatta etc so it's worth having a hunt around but basically walking clothing is what you're after.

Currently wearing hemp blouse bought c20 years ago ~ not had much wear, strangely enough ...
Cotton everything else ~ eclectic mix from Weirdfish, M&S. Absolutely no man-made.

Otherwise, I've linen trousers and tops ~ but it's hard to find blouses with full sleeves, and trousers that fit properly at the waist and are properly cut for working in.

Don't forget your floppy hat (y)

PS, Not your age! It's simply hot weather :)

The snag with wearing shorts and t shirts in this warm weather is that you are open season game for all biting insects, if the vegans could convince clegs and mozzies to become non meat eaters I might join them.I'm convinced that insect repellents are similar to Crovect in that you miss a square millimetre and the insects find it.

Avon 'Skin so Soft' is a good insect repellent.

I can't wear shorts or short sleeves around bullocks or sheep or i'd be devoured by flying, buzzing thynges! No hoss for several years, so spared the clegs.

I'm experimenting: Will scoffing Tyrrell's black truffle 'n' sea salt chips repel insects more effectively than the usual guzzled toast 'n' butter with a clove of garlic rubbed over it?
Too windy for midges today, though.

I only have to look at a polyester shirt and I start sweating, so I have to have all cotton too. Primark so some reasonably cheep and lightweight jeans that I wear during the summer. Otherwise all my work shirts, long or short sleeves start off as good shirts and then get demoted, that way I can justify some nice cotton only polo shirts etc. I did get some 100% cotton fruit of the loom polo shirts from the internet recently and when I bought about 6 they worked out quite cheep per item.
Hope it helps.
