Welsh Environment Minister Alun Davies breaches ministerial code but avoids the sack

Welsh Environment Minister Alun Davies.


WELSH Environment Minister Alun Davies will not be sacked, despite him breaching the Ministerial Code.

Mr Davies lobbied environment watchdog Natural Resources Wales over plans for a race track near Ebbw Vale.

But First Minister Carwyn Jones said, although it was “clear" the code had been breached, the issues were "not clear cut", and therefore Mr Davies would be allowed to keep his job.

The decision has been described as ‘indefensible’ by Welsh Liberal Democratleaderaimages.intellitxt.com_ast_adTypes_icon1.png Kirsty Williams.

World Food Day: NFU Cymru celebrates Welsh food producers at the Senedd

NFU Cymru members and Assembly Members have been celebrating the role that Welsh farmers play in producing nutritious, high quality, safe affordable food during an event at the Senedd today on World Food Day (October 16).

The lunchtime event, which was sponsored by Llyr Gruffydd AM, included a special menu of fine Welsh produce.
