im taking the family on one weeks holiday in the Brecon Beacons at the end of August. Any markets worth a look at for an escape day for me!? I think I might be a bit early for the draft ewe sales ?

It's one week. Just 7 days. Just switch off enough to enjoy & respect the time with your family.

Sounds a bit like an ex dairy man I know who went on holiday to wales with his wife and walking back from the pub together he realises a cow is in trouble calving so hammers on the farmhouse door and spends a good few hours helping the bloke pull the calf.

Raglan market between Raglan and Abergavenny very busy Monday and Wednesday - cafe used to be local supplied now all foreign muck (says in disgust) You would need to go on the website to see if there are any specific sales coming up.

Whitland lambs and cattle, brecon fat lambs on tuesday,
Carmarthen dairy, llandovery fat lambs, hereford on the wednesday
Carms barren cows, store cattle on the thursday
Depending on the month and how the friday falls lladovery will be the 3rd friday of the month and brecon the last friday of the month (never a bad show of cattle to disapoint in brecon worth seeing)
