I had missed that thread .. I'm just about to do the same with an old polymat.

my old fiona ' box broadcaster' is a bit narrow at 3m these days.

@Bury the Trash We doubled the investment made in it this year by replacing the metering unit with a recon one from Andy Guest at roughly 400 quid. Will last a lifetime now.
Bro in law also did some forage rape with it this year and it is growing well. I might try some osr with it this autumn.

We have just sown some with Amazon zam. 12 metre discs shutter set st 20 and did twice about 12 foot width and then split wheelings. Just coming nicely.
 
Virtually anything that puts the seed in and covers it.

Vaddy drill works well as leaves the job quite firm.

The idea that lines in your grass are somehow wrong is false in my honest opinion. Had a client who has hit grass drilled by contractor without fail every year and I reckon he grows grass silage yields that a lot of people would not believe.
