Started on some barley tonight. Heard of big estate nearby, all drilled up with wheat. My agronomist wanted me to wait a week, but as a one man band, I thought I'd make a start, but most of my wheat follows maize and spuds which are still to harvest.

No rush here, October start I think! Agronomist is against an early start this year, suits me!
Jason has got the bug about not starting too early. Let's hope it doesn't turn wet suddenly, or my heavy ground will soon become hard work.

Think he right tho got to watch these Grass weeds, nice to have some time to sort fields out, only got 50ac of heavy ground to drill with wheat rest in osr and stubble turnips, got the easy ground to drill this Autumn!

0% but will go as soon as it stops raining long enough for my clay to dry out enough to DD. Only 700 AC to sow with a 6m drill.

32mm of rain since Friday. Soon as it dries up the Rye will be going in. Supposed to be waiting a couple more weeks to get a good chit on the heavier, wetter that looks like it's never going to dry up stuff. So it could be April 2017.

0% here, seed was dressed at the weekend, ploughing+pressing the heath, will start when that's finished.
All heavy land worked into stale seed beds just will need spraying off in October, quick pass with the p/h and drill.
As long as I'm drilled up by the clocks change I'll be happy.

I was going to start this week with the LEEDS wheat but as I am going to the J/D event at Langar on Saturday I probably will leave it till sunday as something is bound to go wrong and end up working all day on Saturday instead
