Sowing wheat in Jan, youtube

How can farmer down in England complain about the weather when on YouTube there is a video of guy sowing wheat on the 3rd of Jan, it just shows what a difference in the seasons are these days, the ground up here is like soup. A few hundred miles south makes some difference in growing things, there will be six weeks difference in grass growth between mid England and mid Scotland, as lv said folk around me can't get cattle out till mid May for wet ground and no grass.

Just soil type, I was drilling on Jan 1st on brash but I also have fields that I wouldnt even be able to drive a tractor on let alone plough.
Look at the above, Norfolk and lincs, both have some lovely soil but I am sure they also have some crap too.

Done a bit today, only 4ac through with spring tines this am, wheat in this afternoon. Slightly doughey but better than last one planted in Dec.
Next little field to wrap job up, soon as i can get a bit more seed, got a shedfull that's been through pot drier..... bugger!
