Two following potatoes lifted in Nov fields ploughed then pressed twice in Feb. Seedrate 133kg/ha. Second year growing for us on black fenland just outside Whittlesey Cambridgeshire. A Soya update 24/5/ 19.
Soya is up in the rows now and looking ok .It was a good job we had rain last weekend as since then it has moved on a lot . Pigeons and rooks are a bit of a pain . We have scarecrows rope bangers and a gas gun out there and seem to be able to keep them off most of the time .

Well your keepers ought to be doing more as if they ain't got enough to do already.
Up to 4 pairs of English partridge on here now tell them to keep sending them over

Well the soya is now romping on and looking not too bad just put the post em broadleaved weed spray on this evening when it cooled down. I would of liked it on last week but as it was barmy weather thought it would be kinder on the crop to wait and in places weed control might be compromised a bit as hard to get it through the canopy .
Here are couple of pictures as I was spraying tonight

Thanks for posting the pictures @tw15 . I planted some for another forum member. It's not as advanced as yours and I think it's been held back by the wet and cold weather in June as it's on fairly exposed fields.

Its funny old stuff and it doe's take a while to get going but once its gets a couple of sets of trifoliate leaves it romps away . with plenty of soil moisture and heat .

Looking good .
What is this " plenty of soil moisture " you speak of ?
Have had plenty of rain up till the middle of June and soil moisture levels are good . Been lovely and dry for hay making . To be honest for most crops now around here if it was dry till August it won't hurt them , the soya would like a drink in that time .
