We are only 10 minutes away from Spaldings, but would rather buy from Pan Anglia and wait 24 hrs delivery than pay Spaldings rip off prices!!!

I get my plough parts from pan anglia , they fit...... and last well , but they don't do online shopping .

I haven't got time to phone em up and negotiate a price , as @Wooly says..... just give me the fudging price and I'll order it

I learned a few tricks when I was a parts man. Part numbers and production codes are your friend.

nedded a new starter for my old jcb 805b, perkins 6 354, a few years ago, jcb dealer wanted about £250, local massey dealer said 150 but there were none avaliable, plenty about for four cylinder masseys,i tried the starter off the 398 n it fitted so got a new one for that
when i had the old ford 6610 genuine engine oil filters, from local dealer were cheaper than pattern ones elswhere

I find whilst you can get a deal out of spaldings if you pester the problem I have with it is that they would clearly get away with an hugely inflated price to you if they could.

I'm not saying they have to be moral about it but people can only take being patronised a few times before you get cross about it. So I always tread carefully with them and to be honest I'd rather buy off someone who may have quoted a bit dearer even if in the end spaldings come back and want to beat it. And I don't mean small amounts within a few quid.

So come on Spaldings respect your customers more.

doh @ me! I do use them, but always ask for price first, generally its bits and bobs, wearing plough parts, electric fence posts, power harrow blades and parlour paint. Not too bad, do find them handy. Call up and here next day. But must price compare more maybe. Never use for bolts etc, plenty of small fastener places around me, screwfix too for cheap rubbish.
Note to self must price compare more.
As for there "deals", that always hits the bin quickly!

I had an account with Spaldings and found out that they had closed it when i rang up to get a price on a drill doctor as i had heard they were cheaper from them. When i asked why, they said 'because you haven't used it'. My reply was 'thats cos your too dear' and then we had the lengthy conversation about beating prices(there way) and best price first(my way). I still haven't got an account and my drill doctor came from Amazon.

I bought 100 tines from them whilst I was refurbishing the Einbock. Over the course of the year, I probably had 200 to replace the original 100. To be fair to Spaldings, they kept replacing them FOC but what a PIA replacing them all!!
