Sparetime Online Games

Well come on it is a pretty idiotic comment to make what point are you trying to make ??

I’ve got no interest in the subject but I’ll stick my oar in anyway because I love the attention,

I’m with you, the guys a plonker. I don’t like playing golf but I don’t go telling golfers there weird because they put stupid clothes on and hit a ball round a field. Sometimes it’s better just to keep your mouth shut JP1

Done. Pounded with artillery. Difficulty level is prince so the game has been a steady one. Got some sorting out to do now.

Agreed this was/is an enjoyable thread a didn't need that nonsense. Biggest problem is when mods start trolling/posting nonsense you can't put them on the ignore list.

Still only a PS3 here, am a huge GTA V fan, absolutely loved the story! Unbelievably detailed and so much to do, hilarious as well. It's also got me into looking into and following Steven Oggs work.

GTA V as well as GTA 4 and even San Andreas taught a younger me quite a bit about driving physics, lift off over steer being one of them, enabling me to be able to drift fwd cars :ROFLMAO: Rather than booting it on loose terrain, just ease/lightly use the throttle and it will quietly pull itself through/up, much like real life!

I will sometimes go back to the PS2 and stick on the original Ratchet and Clank, again, a great story line and oddly addictive soundtrack for myself.

Never got into Red Dead Redemption as the Western style thing never really appealed, especially as I was so used to GTA etc. RDR2 does look epic though!

Can't see me buying a new console till GTA VI is released. Which I would be amazed if we even hear anything (officially) about it for another 2-3 years. GTA V was 5 years in development. We're over 5 years since the release of GTA V, so we could be looking at a potential 8-10years worth of potential development before GTA VI is released?

Games are a bit like reading books. At least they used to be .. now it's like reading a series of books or taking part within a film.

Some people don't like reading or complain about films not being realistic .. which is hardly the point.
the few games i try to play are nothing like reading a book
in EFT i get caned ,but i get a thrill from not being killed.
another game that dose not take much of your time, are many online racing games .
all the games i play are to play against other players.
at the end of the day gaming, is cheeper than a night at the pub.
and that is why i play games and call my self a dick .
but i am a dick ,with some of my money left after friday nite

Farm Sim got bought for my eldest son a couple of Christmas's ago and has been something we've enjoy together. I do play something to relax me when the Mrs is has control of the viewing. Made me have a look at some of the games I used to play when I younger, found command and conquer and medal of honour online. I've not got the old ps1 or 2 out yet to show my boys some proper games. I really not a fan of their mind craft game. I must admit I do not advocate heavy use of computer games in my house but every now again can be a bit of fun. (y)
farm sim is a great game mutli player fun .

I do wish they made the Console version spilt screen multiplayer. Even the wife said she would get involved if it was.

On another note can I make two laptops be multiplayer on the same wifi network with fs?

I played the original Doom to death back in my school days. A couple of friends who were pc whizzkids (still are by their Facebook profiles) figured out how to make a serial cable to connect two of the school computers together to play Doom Deathmatch Showdown, which was pretty awesome for a while ‘til the teachers figured out what we were doing. Bit of a shame really as we were learning more about the gubbins of computers than we ever would in class.

I gave up games for 20 years or so - not the thing to be doing at uni and afterward, then I got an xbox360 to play Alan Wake (brilliant twin-peaksy type game, if you’ve not come across it) then also RDR (which was released on the same day - maybe why Alan Wake wasn’t the success it should have been).

I’ve played very few games since - not had the time really with work and family stuff. GTA4 - good game for the time but didn’t really like the characters.
GTA5- awesome. I haven’t played any other game for the past 5 years!
RDR2 I am currently enjoying at my own pace (best game ever?). Even my wife, who looks down on such things was impressed. Not looking good though - Arthur has just been diagnosed with TB...

Yes you can play farm sim from two devices in the same house if they both have access to the internet. I don't know if farm sim allows direct client to client play, as many older games did using null modem mode etc, I think you have to create a host that is logged with their central server and then the other play searches online and finds it and joins.

You can also hire a dedicated server for a lot of different games, this tends to cut down lag but involves some setting up and admin.

Yep, play a lot when I have spare time. Been playing fs since 15, onto 19 ATM. OSU is also a challenging game I love, free too. Warhammer is good, fortnite too. Most battle Royale games in fact. I could go on forever really, but I won't. Gaming is good especially in winter evenings, when all jobs are done. Even better with friends :)

Has anyone gone for CS:GO now that it's free? I've played it for ages, but only ever a pirate copy that we used for LAN matches on the boats.

I'm tempted to get it, but fear I will be way behind the rest of the field.

Perhaps.

There's an old game called Neverwinter Nights .. you could create a mulitplayer game server .. instead of playing the game loads of players wore rags, drank game beer and "trashed" the town using burning torches .. this ended up in a show trial by the "establishment" (Mods) and the main protaganist was put in game jail.

I cannot play CS:GO and never have been able since it's first inception, I am just not able to react or aim fast enough in that game.

ive played ist person shooters since original half life, but you have to play a bit to get upto speed fairly quickly, they did a reaction test when our eldest went to look around grammar school and i did very well i sadly put it down to playing this, yes i am a loser...

I can't do it; I used to be really good on Xbox 360 but that was in COD and with a controller. PC just seems a whole other level of player.
