Spec help for renewable energy

Hi all, newbie here.

Will try to be short. I have a disability and benefit from hydrotherapy. During summer I installed an above ground pool. I have a good solar cover, The bottom and sides are insulated and I am in the process of making a frame to clad the pool sides. Aim is to be able to use the pool over the winter.

I have two heaters, one air source but won't operate less than 12deg C So this will only run for short times in the winter/ cold months. (I'm actually hoping that once the pool is covered the heat created from use on a warmer days and the second heater would in theory mean the area is warmer than 12deg most of the time and the heater would then work longer hours, and just need vented to the outside space.)

The other is a hot tub heater. The egg type, by Bestway. Model 54123 Which is 13amp plug, 2050W I've been told for this I need the best part of 5,000£ system to use the heater even for just 4 hours a day. As I understand it the device would be expected to use less Electric so I've probably inadvertently misled the solar supplier. The device transformer box says - in 16A Un:220-250v
I(triangle)n 10Ma If I understand correctly then this is 0.01 AMP * 250v = 2.5 Watts does that even sound right? /-: So what I am trying to find out is what I would need to run this heater.

Thanks for the reply. This is the back of the power connection. It seems to suggest the power usage is micro amps, which seems very low..

This is a trip switch and will trip out with a leakage of 1Milli amp The actual draw from the heater is 16 amps and will, require a 20 amp plug as a minimum.
if your ASHP pump requires a minimum air temp of 12C then no amount of warming by the pool of the air will make any difference at all. You need free air supply.
Do you live at or near a famous port?

Hi,
Sorry I'm confused. These heaters come with a fitted 13amp plug. Seems odd given it says 16amp but then thats why I'm here asking for help lol. Non of it makes sense to me. Computers yes, electrics, no. No I dont live near a port, why?

You will probably get away with using it on a 13 amp socket , provided it is on the ringmain. Cannot think it can be legal though.
I will pm you on the other point.

If I read you correctly, you are asking simply about the Bestway. Model 54123, this heater from the manufacturer's source is just over 2000 watts, and therefore in it self is no problem plugged into a normal 13 amp socket, your question is, how can this unit heat the pool, what pipework, pump is needed, and on this basis, the pump need not be too large to dissipate just 2kw into the pool, a simple run around system comprising flow and return pipe together with a pump and filter will suffice, the question I ask, is how large is your pool, how many litres does it contain and what temperature of water do you need as a hydrotherapy pool, and on that basis, may be I can help you further , I must admit that £5000 sounds excessive for something which sounds so simple

I have just looked at this Bestway. Model 54123 and notice that it is a complete unit with pump and filter built in, and so the total load will be in excess of the the 2kw heater, but it still should not be greater than the 13 amp fuse within a 13 amp plug, the plug may run hot but should not be cause for concern particularly if used on short term basis and so simplest installation would be to connect the flow pipe and allow it to discharge over the wall of the pool and connect the return pipe to the outlet port on the bottom of the pool, 'cheap as chips' I am though, still concerned about the ability of this unit to perform to your requirements
