A brand that never really seemed to have ever taken off in the Uk.

they are good tbf, but when you can buy a bailey, marshall or richard western and a couple gallons of epoxy enamel for £5-10k less it would be a hard sell to me, but plenty seem convinced so good luck to them

be interesting to see how the larrington quote compares to the stewart, nothing would surprise me with how things are though have you priced bailey or any others?

just seen on baileys website that their 26m3 trailer is still advertised at £21500... must be a mistake surely

Commercial axles, air brakes, load sensing, led lights, ABS, flotation tyres.

Soon mounts up.

Was a few years ago we priced new trailers but not much difference between a Stewart and a Marshall. Marshall are no longer a budget brand. There build quality and finish would be up there with other more popular brands of trailer.

We ended up buying a ex hire Stewart.

There's very little difference in price between trailer manufacturers if you're comparing trailers with the same specification. May as well buy the well finished, properly painted trailer than the badly finished trailer that starts to rust before it has even been used.

Marshall are a budget brand with a premium price tag. The finish on our last new Marshall was so bad it went back to the factory.

There's very little difference in price between trailer manufacturers if you're comparing trailers with the same specification. May as well buy the well finished, properly painted trailer than the badly finished trailer that starts to rust before it has even been used.

I guess it depends on the deal and what you're buying, but when i have had spec for spec quotes in the past there have been absolutely huge differences, over 100% more expensive in one case

Maybe it depends on who you're dealing with but amongst Northern Ireland's trailer manufacturers there's nothing in it on price when the spec is the same. Some build to a lower spec as standard so their standard build is cheaper but they can be more expensive when brought up to match the standard spec of others.

in fairness the hudson was galvanised and fleming wasnt but still a big difference

of all our trailers. Pity because otherwise excellent

Fleming won't build a trailer to the same spec as Hudson so you can't compare them

Fleming won't build a trailer to the same spec as Hudson so you can't compare them

was same size, axles, wheels, tyres, brakes.... hudson would be better quality yes but i could have thrown my fleming away, bought another and id be no worse off than the hudson

if I could get reliable and consistent contractors at the right price I would do exactly that

Pay someone with a truck- you'll have a chaser bin for them in any event.

I could understand why the odd farm or large estate had a chaser bin, but never understood how they would fit with anything else. Last summer taught me different and I can see how they could be a LOT cheaper and easier than some of the alternatives.

What do these big trailers weigh empty, I mean how much can you carry(legally) if going on roads?

I don't know, your guess is as good as mine. We are allowed 50 tonne with 10 tonne per axle, so 40 with this trailer if the weightdistribution is right.

I don’t know, but looking at that one I can’t help but think if you fully load it, the trailer will remove itself from the drawbar at the hinge for the sprung draw bar, looks very little steel on the trailer side.

There is no sprung drawbar, hydraulic suspension might be an option but as standard there is a rubber block at the end. I have never seen a simple sprung drawbar overhere actually.
