I actually stopped in this afternoon on the way past-looks amazing. Superb view from main window, and love the gallery. You've obviously spent a lot of time on it and done it well, but you're on the home straight now. Hope you're mum is ok

Ceilings all painted and walls had first coat.
Will finish cladding next week and guttering prior to harvest then it's dry and done.
I'm on farm duties then until November really. But Sparky's will do second fix and plumbers going to do under floor heating and I'll get the screeders in .
Looks a nice job are you living in it yourself, what type of heating are you going for ?

Parents firstly and I'll move into theirs on the farm but we both think we'll be swapping after a few years as I'll be better travelling to the farm and them living back on the farm in older age etc.
Heating just oil.
Looked at ground source but there is only a bit of topsoil then on rock and digging has been a night mare over there.

Ah sorry yes I see, I think a bigger issue will be all the same type of insulation that is in the cavity of all new houses as was in the tower block
it wasnt the insulation in the towerblock it was the way it was installed ,on timbers with an air gap or chimney as it worked just like one

But it still burnt despite being flame resistant, if fire gets in a cavity and can draw a draught the result will be the same, its very unlikely to happen but we seem to live in a world where risk has to be zero

if you read the report the cladding used had the same fire rating as the one the should have used ,but the chimney effect caused the fire to spread very quickly, thus cutting people off

The trouble was they had been told to stay put rather than block the stairs wells, it was a case of a series of unforeseen events

when the tower was refurbed ,they removed 1 of the fire escapes to make more flats, also at least 80 were sub let which is against the law and nobody has no idea who was in the flats
