Got the floor joists in so brickies can carry on upwards. Did a bit more steel work over various bits. This dry weather is a pain for the farm work but good for this job.

Sorry to hijack your thread but we have just started our PD and I was trying to decide which way to go with heating. You have done your homework so is underfloor the best? Thanks

Not done much home work tbh but both builder and structural engineer and mates in the know seem to regard it as the norm now. I don't know enough to argue. Just got some prices in which might be the thing that is against it. Got to do my sums

No hopefully not. Either my folks will live in it and I move into theirs as it's on the main farm and the new one is 6-7 miles away. Or I move in and rent out mine which maybe the better option as they are getting older I will be able to keep and eye on them more if they stay at the farm as I'm there 90% of the time. Then might look to put a shed up near the new build. My current house will hopefully be used when I need to employ somebody I can offer a nice house wth the job.

One of us has to live in it for atleast 3 years to save paying the community infrastructure levy. So we can test the water. If it's not working there is an option to sell and do up the current houses a bit. But tbh Im not a flash person and never really strived to have the biggest or the best, as long as it's a nice homely house I'm happy.

I will find out it's worked out on square footage, you send them the total amount then they send you the amount payable .(£14k for me) but you don't pay it if your living there but if you sell it has to be paid.
