Use Hatchet it's the cheapest fluroxypyr product I could find. Provided your product has the same concentration here is an example application guide from a label.

http://www.agrigem.co.uk/documents/hatchet label.pdf

30ml in 10 litres of water, sprayed to the point of run off.

I am not a proffesional and am only showing you information found on the internet that may or may not be relevant to your situation.

Get yourself a new contractor!!

On the courses it tells you how to work out the correct dose to which it is very simple so I question the validity of the contractor.

Additionally, imho, we should not be simply advising add Xml of chemical to X ltr of water - as we do not know where the docks are, and they could be on a bank of a pond, stream etc so chemical choice could be wrong?

Docs have all flowered round here and a lot of them are dying off so is it worth it? I thought it was best to catch them when they're actively growing, before flowering. Spring or early Autumn. Or top them and allow some re-growth.

I am know authority on Docks, but I cut my hay on June the 14th, and the few docks that I have, are now at perfect size to spot spray off!

Usually when a contractor does spraying he is told what rate of chemicals to use from (an agronomist's) recommendation. The contractor doesn't decide for himself how much he is going to put on.
