Spray Bitumen onto Concrete

Can anyone advise me please. We want to apply bitumen onto concrete walls which have cracked. Quite a large area so spray on preferred. Concrete is new and has plenty of reinforcement. Cracks are 0.2mm-1mm maximum. Thanks

If you hire a good "airless sprayer" you would only need to thin it slightly or warm it up as suggested , if you use bitumen . They are very fast , alternatively a roller is good enough if you haven't got a huge area to do.

Thanks for your comments folks, it's for the walls of an AD plant. Quite a large area but not sure whether we need to do the whole thing or just the cracks? Any suggestions appreciated

If you have cracks that will allow water or acidic compounds to access the re-bar then all of the concrete exposed will need to be covered with at least two coats. Now the larger gaps should be fixed with a repair grout like Fosroc http://www.fosroc.com/products/by-solution/concrete-repair/

It's unusual to have cracks on a shuttered face , did it cure to quickly or was there no expansion joints and it's made some ?
It's a long story but the original designs did have expansion joints but a 'professional' insisted they were removed and extra steelwork put in instead, basically we had no choice but to remove them!

I would chase them out with a 5" angle grinder and decent width 5mm diamond blade , blow the dust out thoroughly and fill with a good quality polyurethane mastic , like "Soudal sudaflex" , or "Sika flow " .
Warm the tubes up and cut the nozzle thin so it gets right in , travel upwards wipe of flush and it shouldn't take any harm.

DON'T , leave any gaps and get it well in on a dry clean surface !!
