The value I’m thinking of is in the plastic. Lids are supposed to be higher quality plastic which can be chipped and sold for reuse. Must be a reason why schools collect plastic milk bottle lids?
If its any consolation I too remember being told that, or reading it somewhere too - that the chemical lids were a higher grade plastic and worth conserving.
depends if they're from cans with foil seals or not, as the ones without will have been in direct contact with chemical therefor classed as very hazardous material even if they've been washed, best to put them in a separate smaller bag inside the bag with your empty,washed containers
