Have young friend with an old workshop made of steel, con block stub walls and asbestos cladding and roof .
he is looking to convert it for hospitality use , cafe shop sort of thing.
i thought he should start by stripping out the asbestos but he has been told that you can encapsulate the asbestos in spray foam. The rodent issue should not be a major problem as it has never been a grain store.
what are peoples experience of this type of product?

Spray foam work of the devil,
Who can guarantee no rat problems,
Remove the asbestos now, and use insulated sheets, job done, future proof,
If it’s in Nr Bury, I can cover that for removal and re clad,

About to do the same on the next project and looking to reclad with insulated pannels. Main reason for this was due to roof being in a poor state of repair.

I have sprayed foamed before and it worked very well though. It’s not expensive for what it is but it’s a one trip pony. Get them to paint it after, takes them minutes.

If OP is looking long term then spending on new is a good idea. If you want 5 yrs plan then wing it with foam!
