Spray Water Volumes

Probably been discussed a million times but reviewing again to reduce overheads.
If I go down to 155 litres per ha instead of 200 I only need to visit each block of land once with my 2000 litre tank which is a big saving in time and clat factor.
Is 155 litres per ha adequate for fungicides etc rather than 200. Flat fans, 04, 2 barg, 10 kph.
I find 155 is very good for glyphosate but wonder if it’s enough for T2 fungicide etc.

Been using 100l/ha as standard application here for years. Anything else is “irrigation” 🤣🤣🤣🤣 …….. but you will need to change those 04 nozzles.
Try some 025 Guardian Airs.

Suppose it all depends on the target and how much biomass your spraying into or through
It certainly does. I’m all cereals and OSR. When we grew a few spuds we went 400 litres on blight spray. But now they are gone I think 155 will work across the board except for low volume fine quality beet herbicides which I do at 100.
I quite like my 110 04 XR Teejets as good all rounders. They aren’t too drifty at 2 barg.
My sprayer only has single nozzle bodies.

go down to 03's and up the pressure a bit will give you better coverage and also change to some of the better low drift nozzles like lechler or bfs.

I did try some back and forward facing air induction nozzles last year for fungicides but considering the cost I couldn’t really see a noticeable benefit over flat fans for the same volume. Everything still died off with septoria!!
Those nozzles were a pain to clean out as well.

My mate was doing 60lts to ha with round up for a contractor. That rate sounds pretty common around here aleast. The paddocks did have 3k runs which he was doing 25 kph up and down. Sprayer was self propelled with 5000L tank with 36 m boom I think

80ha fill definitely the way to go😁 100l/ha is 40ha for me which I like but it doesn’t happen often
