Does anyone know if its possible to get a cheap gps controller and pick up a simple voltage signal out of the loom to trigger relays to operate the sections on my sprayer. If so what type of gps unit would be required?

Any of the of the GPS manufacturers can do this, we use Trimble on ours.

If you are quite technically minded I’m sure you could pick up a GPS reciever, Arduino, relays etc for a fraction of the price of off the shelf and program it yourself.

To suppy and fit teejet auto section control to out berthoud with agp boom valves
To include matrix screen ,rxa antenna ,section control module berthoud pcb board ,all cables and labour
£5400
4 extra agp boom valves and switches and wired up and associated pipe work ,
£900
This was what we where quoted ,this spring , bit i put 2 extra sections on,and just use a little matrix 430 , which show sections ,and switch manually , did not think £6500 into sprayer not worth it when it will be changed in next 5 years ,then will get one all ready rigged up

Thats kind of what i had in mind but can i do it without the ez boom bit? Just straight off the gps into the relays
No ez boom is the switching bit I search far and wide for a simple system but had to collect up bits as and when they came up for sale currently just setting it up on my new to me Trailed sprayer
What sprayer are you currently running

Old multidrive with knight sprayer pack on thr back.
Doesnt the screen give the ez boom the signal to operate the solenoids? Was hoping to bypass all that with signals from the screen to trigger the relays to operate the solenoids, i guess im looking at it overly simplistically.

I’ve got the wires from ez boom going straight to the pneumatic solenoids as there such low watts but if going to valve sections I would put a relay in to be on the safe side but I suppose it all depends on how many sections you want

8 sections would be a nice start. But could just start with four, rather then spending on the ez boom and harness i could wire through the currwnt control box
