This is a product I have never used but am looking at for the spring / winter

Seems its usually contractor spread ? why is this ? I have a K45 would that do the job ? would I need lime discs or fert ? how far can you throw it with decent pattern ?

Looking at using the Extra K product - anyone that wants to quote for about 100t to spread over winter please PM if you can supply

spreads to 12m reliably. not sure what discs you need but the product is quite light. good product, makes sense compared to PK blends/compounds

Clive,
You will do it ok with lime discs and your K45 IMo to 12m reliably.
Our contractor is using a K85 with the same discs, doing a job unless its too windy.

You might get a better deal for supply and spread through a contractor than you could for just supply direct from the supplier. I'd imagine contractors who use a fair volume would get preferential rates.

Your spreader would do it a treat Clive. Just use the square lime discs without the top circle piece. It may work with the six vane fert discs, but I've not used them before. It will stick on the vanes a bit, especially if its a damp atmosphere. Just scrape them clean regularly and it will be fine.

I've bought it off several companies in the past the last from a company near York . There's different types some slightly better than others 0-14-14 upto 0-18-18 so they tell me all depends on which power station it comes out of .if anyone wants more information on a York supplier pm me and I can past information on to you
