Yes that would be my worry, never been a fan of spring pre-Em unless blackgrass is a problem. Can you still get those spitfire type productsI'm never keen in spring pre ems because of lack of moisture and when applied in the autumn I find pdm let's several BLWs through, could add picolinafen but that's expensive and a bit pants in my opinion.
I've been told to use fluroxpyr and mcpa on mine because I want to establish a herbal ley after. It scares me that some people use just a SU on its own year after year also I'm finding I'm having to use more ally/hiatus type SUs in all cereals to tidy up BLWs. In the olden days when I could use ipu/ctu that did for all BLW and the only crop that got an SU was spring barley one in 3 or 4 year in the rotation.
Has anyone got any ideas on a broad spectrum BLW spray for spring barley that avoids SU so rape can be established without worrying about residues.
I’ve never tried it but someone on here swore by 15g ally, 0.5starane and 0.5mcpa for small weeds
What’s the 0.4l of compitox plus for?
75 g/ha avro plus cmpp or Agritox 1-1.5 l/ha usually. I would say Pixarro was only worth it if you had resistant poppy or chickweed. Cleavers you would put starane in.

Which phenoxies???? I've always used Thor/taxi which is straight tribenuron for mayweed and groundsel.PDM is not a cure all. The addition of picolinafen broadens it a bit but groundsel will still come through it from memory. The main bonus is not having a carpet of salad on the first dry day in March which gives you more options to wait and see. Things like groundsel are readily done away with using simple (cheap) phenoxies when they are small.
