SB went in at 145kg/ha due to a 'technical ' issue, any suggestions apart from blowing some more on. It's about 7ha worth. Thanks
How much should be put on as assuming another 2 applications will be made once it's up. It was rolled today but don't know the TGW as the bags are not here.Any idea what the TGW was. Make sure it has N on in the seedbed/straight after drilling.
I've done this too this year. On about 50 acres... Just going to put a bit of moddus on and early fertSB went in at 145kg/ha due to a 'technical ' issue, any suggestions apart from blowing some more on. It's about 7ha worth. Thanks

if so what do you aim for now as I agree lower seed in rate good conditions is just as good in terms of yield but less strawI made a slight cock up a few years ago and drilled 5 acre at 125 kg/ha instead of 180, come harvest there was no difference in the yield map.

I have about 150 to 200kgs of Westminster seed left over, pm if interested obviously foc cant sell seed, it should be fine though!SB went in at 145kg/ha due to a 'technical ' issue, any suggestions apart from blowing some more on. It's about 7ha worth. Thanks

Thanks I'll look at putting some on tomorrow, the ground is clay having previously been long term grass. Feeling a lot more confident now having seen the other posts. I will also try to find out the TGW, it's got me interested now. Thanks. If the TGW was 40g then you end up with a plant population of around 300plants

As long as they tiller well and establishment is at these levels I would say both could yield equally well.
Nitrogen inputs depend on so many variables such as soil type, previous crop etc, but I would want to see 40-50kg N/ha on at drilling. This is around about 32-40 Units.
Long term grass ley with minimal N from the bag, no manure applied recently but grazed over winter.
Feed, as advised above was going to put 50 KG N prior to it emerging. This drop of rain will probably help.
