Spring barley in winter oat crop

Nothing chemical, unless you want to kill the oat crop and keep the barley! What level of contamination are you looking at?

Had same problem few yrs back , all you can do is ensure oats get away early in spring and have plenty of canopy cover through out the growing season, too out compete the barley , I found at harvest barley seed was like needles, sold a load at a time and all went for milling ,I may have just been lucky , but it was a worry at the time

I have had a problem in the past with winter barley in oats. The 3c was unintentionally delayed which meant the barley was out in ear by the time it went on, it was still a safe timing for the oats. There was hardly any barley in then sample, most grain sites on the barley were blind.
