Finding quite a few spring barley plants in our winter oats now. Other than hand hoeing is there any way I can deal with them in the crop?

Average may be 1 plant per two square metres. But looks more than that. Guessing millers will be very picky this year with so many oats in the ground.
Plenty of stock boys your way , sell it throughout next winter.

Not for feed oats price! Difference is >£100/ac. Rather hoe it out!!

Where did the seed come from? 
Had same problem few yrs back , all you can do is ensure oats get away early in spring and have plenty of canopy cover through out the growing season, too out compete the barley , I found at harvest barley seed was like needles, sold a load at a time and all went for milling ,I may have just been lucky , but it was a worry at the time

We grew milling wheat min tilled after winter barley years ago never had a single load rejected
Like there was a lot but less than 1% in the sample

Thanks all for responses. I may sleep a little easier having read replies.
I have had a problem in the past with winter barley in oats. The 3c was unintentionally delayed which meant the barley was out in ear by the time it went on, it was still a safe timing for the oats. There was hardly any barley in then sample, most grain sites on the barley were blind.
