Anyone seeing skinning as an issue with malting barley this year? We haven’t cut any yet but our cooperative is reporting higher than normal skinned grain in samples so far.

Isn’t that just the usual when they’ve too much barley. Seems to be the usual story round here. Haven’t cut any yet to find out.

I had a load rejected at intake today for skinning at 8.8% . 8% seemingly the new limit as of now.
Laureate at 1.38N
Its very unusual for us.

Who has moved to 8%? Presumably a reaction to expected skinning levels this year. Are the buggers taking claims from a lower level?
Hopefully your later cut Laureate will have lower skinnings. Seems to be worse with early cut, not too bad for a while, then bad again with anything cut late. Good Nitrogen levels though (y)
