Spring barley

Could it be stuff that just lay in the drought then germinated late?

Every heavy land farmer in lincs who drilled after about 2nd April has varying emergence in barley. The block I'm looking at was worked and drilled but still grew. Mine was sown on 6th April and is well turned but has had no fungicides at all.

I'm minded to spray this sooner rather than later. It's going to central store so I'd be happy paying for drying Vs heads on the floor. Propino.

I have acres of uneven spring barley and wheat. This year there aren’t any right answers. Just educated guesses. Why is it that difficult years never get easier? Like a poorly sheep just seems to wait till it’s sucked in the maximum amount of treatment before it dies.
I am expecting it to be a bar steward to the finish. Difficult to thresh, sh!t sample and green straw. To top it all the electricity board are laying new power lines thro most of it and the road is closed for resurfacing at peak harvesting time. The only thing missing is a meteor strike. Hey ho.

I think you might be right. What about the straw. Did you have to spread it out afterwards and make it like hay
No, I baled it yesterday in the combine dram 4 days after combining it. 4and a half bales an acre which is reasonable on any year. We had a beautiful day yesterday mind, after a dodgy weekend with light showers and drizzle.
I don't have a 40 footer though....🙄

Think I will have to bite the bullet and spray mine , as not sure where I’d sell crimped grain .
