Spring beans row width dd

Do spring beans preform on wider row width?
I am thinking of drilling using metcalfe points on 250mm spacing.
I was wondering if the wide row would create additional weed pressure?

Ask this in the DD section for better answers IMO.

I think wider row spacing like that is beneficial in beans and if you’re not disturbing the soil between the rows then you shouldn’t get much extra germination other than for light seeds e.g. thistle or groundsel.

Either you have utilised the headphones or the weather is worrying you?

Tundra Winter beans strip tilled with a SUMO DTS in the first days of December.

It had a very light cover crop of Phacelia.

Gave it Nirvana + Glyphosate before emergence.

They seem to be coming ok. Bizarrely, the crows didn’t touch a single plant, I would normally expect big crow trouble. Seeds were sown about 4” deep.

Did you ask for recommendations for some good quality wireless headphones a while back? Not sure what the link is but I assume puntabrava is looking at the time at which you posted your reply this morning.

Ah! I see now. I’m actually in a time zone GMT +13 hours for the next couple of weeks, hence my odd posting times if they are in GMT.
