Thank you
I’ve grown plenty of bad crops in my time.
The pig muck has certainly helped over the last few years . Some of the winter barley this year is nothing special .
Would you let me know how your hybrid rye yields, please?
Agree, your farm is always a picture, a real credit to your management.
I am very very jealous of your maize, too cold and wet for it here.

Ok I know it's not a spring crop but it's very interesting (to me anyway).
Red Lammas broadcast in desperation into mud, gate shut. Under water for three months and in-between slugged to hell and back. Stopoed raining here six weeks ago so it should be dead from slow roots.
20N to make up for soil rinsing over winter and nothing else at all. Livid with disease in the bottom clean on top. The odd yellow leaf is some Nelson that was drowned out before. Won't give a huge amount as is heritage but shows what Molly coddled squits our modern varieties are.

That looks better than anything I've seen growing in Cornwall this week (y)

How kind of you not to have mentioned that seeing Cornwall more often than not involves having to see Devon, both before and after.

One can only assume you must have taken the A38, or possibly the A39, and not the A30.

Spring barley really starting to suffer now. Yellow patches running through the fields as crop has died away. Ears are only about half emerged so cannot seeing the plants yielding hardly anything at all. With late drilling would not expect to see, or want to see, barley turning for at least another 4 weeks.
